WINNER RITP & RSPB 2013 Sustainable Communities & Regeneration Category, Northern Ireland Sustainable Planning Awards. An inventive and dynamic community project on the Newtownards Road, Belfast, commissioned by East Belfast Mission. This urban village regeneration attracts residents and visitors for work, study, worship as well as socially. With its courtyards, bold panelled facade, and versatile and inspiring spaces, the building is an iconic landmark. Completed November 2012 Skainos is a truly modern yet thoughtful scheme whose aim is to reinvigorate the vibrant social heritage of this close knit, enduring community.
